The Mascarello family was one of the first to recognize and promote the potential of individual vineyard sites.
In 1881, Giuseppe Mascarello made a name for himself when, after years of managing vineyards for the Marchesa Giulia Colbert Faletti di Barolo, he began acquiring his own land and producing wines under his own name. His son Maurizio continued this pioneering work and, in 1904, acquired the estate in the renowned Monprivato vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, laying the foundation for the winery’s current excellence. Today, Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio enjoys a reputation as one of the most traditional and respected wine producers in Piemonte.
