The Bessererhof, idyllically situated at the foot of the Sciliar in the Dolomites, has been owned by the Mair winemaker family for generations. Here, at 380 meters above sea level, modern farming methods and traditional grape varieties combine to create unique wines. With varieties such as Goldmuskateller, Weissburgunder and Rote Zweigelt, a bridge is built between traditional techniques and new, innovative approaches.
The winery focuses on natural viticulture, a philosophy that reflects the family's ecological awareness. The grapes grow on steep slopes, which requires intensive manual work and a deep passion for viticulture. This careful treatment of nature enables the grapes to ripen under optimal conditions, favored by the climatic interplay of warm days and cool nights as well as plenty of hours of sunshine.
