Hans Rottensteiner

The Hans Rottensteiner winery, a jewel of the South Tyrolean wine landscape, looks back on a rich history that began in 1956. Located in Bolzano, the heart of South Tyrol, the winery benefits from a unique combination of Mediterranean climate and alpine freshness, which makes the wines particularly complex.

The winery is now managed by Hannes Rottensteiner, who continues the legacy of his grandfather Hans with modern technology and traditional know-how. The Rottensteiner family is deeply rooted in the region and has a close connection to nature and its resources, which is reflected in their approach to viticulture.

A special feature of the winery is the intensive study of the Lagrein grape variety, which grows particularly well in this region and from which some of the house's most famous wines come, such as Lagrein Riserva and Lagrein Rosé. These wines are characterized by their depth and complexity, which are typical of Bolzano's soil and climate conditions. The winery is also known for its innovative approaches, such as the integration of biodynamic principles that emphasize respect for the environment and contribute to sustainability in viticulture.
