Loacker

Weingut Loacker has its roots in a vision that goes far beyond traditional methods of viticulture. Founded in 1979 by Rainer Loacker, a South Tyrolean pioneer who originally came from the world of cigarette production, the winery dared to jump into the then barely known terrain of biodynamic agriculture. Rainer Loacker was convinced that the quality of a wine depends directly on the health of the soil and the vines. Driven by this conviction, he relied on alternative methods such as the use of herbal preparations, homeopathy and the cosmic rhythms of nature.

Today, the winery is run by Rainer's sons, Hayo and Franz Josef Loacker, who continue their father's legacy with the same passion and innovative power. Hayo, who takes care of the vineyards, continues to rely on sustainable practices, while Franz Josef is responsible for the vinification as winemaker. Together, the brothers have expanded the winery's portfolio and raised the quality of the wines to a new level. They have introduced modern techniques such as microvinification, which processes small batches of wine separately to highlight the unique character of each plot.

Under the leadership of the Loacker brothers, the winery has also expanded its reach and now operates vineyards not only in South Tyrol but also in Tuscany. The wineries in Montalcino and Maremma reflect the same philosophy: respect for nature, minimal intervention and a belief in the power of the terroir. This diversity of locations allows them to produce a wide range of wines, ranging from elegant white wines from the Alps to powerful red wines from Tuscany.
