Wassererhof
The Wassererhof, a winery with a history that dates back to the 14th century, is now managed by the four Mock brothers. These dedicated winegrowers, who pass on their passion for viticulture from generation to generation, have revitalized the company and made it a modern gem. The historical name “Wasserer” dates back to 1366 and refers to a “farm to water” founded by the Lords of Lichtenstein and whose proximity to a source promised fertility and prosperity.
After the farm went through various phases over the centuries and was acquired in neglected condition by the Mock family in 1996, a phase of careful restoration began. Under the direction of architect Sylvia Hafner Polzhofer, the Wassererhof was lovingly modernized until 2001 while maintaining its historic substance. The architecture today combines time-honored elements such as natural stone walls and wooden paving with modern design and stylish details that make the property an attraction for wine and architecture lovers.
Christoph Mock, one of the brothers, brings his expertise as a winemaker to create wines that are both sophisticated and graceful. The Wassererhof is therefore not only a testimony to careful restoration, but also a place that embodies the Mock family's philosophy of life.
