Luis Oberrauch
The Luis Oberrauch wine factory, founded in 2017, is located in the picturesque village of Auer in the South Tyrolean lowlands. This winery is the result of Luis Oberrauch's long-standing passion for viticulture, which began in his childhood. Under the guidance of his godfather, he produced his first own wine at the age of 13 and developed this passion further through studying oenology in Geisenheim and practical experience at the Tramin winery.
The winery is located in the South Tyrol region and is known for growing autochthonous grape varieties. Lagrein is particularly noteworthy, a strong and characterful red wine variety that is the winery's figurehead. Vernatsch and Sauvignon Blanc are also cultivated. Luis Oberrauch cultivates his approximately 5,000 vines with great care and a deep understanding of nature. The vines grow in the traditional pergel system, which offers numerous benefits, such as deeper rooting and natural shading, which protects the grapes from burns.
