Roberto Ferrari

Since then, Roberto Ferrari has been cultivating around four hectares of leased and purchased vineyards, working with varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Lagrein, and Merlot – with an increasingly organic approach, even if not formally certified.

Roberto Ferrari worked for many years as a cellar master at a prestigious winery in the South Tyrolean lowlands. Over time, he realized that although many regional wines were technically well-crafted, they often lacked distinctive personality—whether they came from Tramin, Kaltern, or other wine villages. This lack of differentiation ultimately led him, in 2007, to take the leap into independence and establish his own artisanal winery.
Since then, Roberto Ferrari has been cultivating around four hectares of leased and purchased vineyards, working with varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Lagrein, and Merlot – with an increasingly organic approach, even if not formally certified. His production today includes the “Profil,” “Pulsar,” and the selective “RF Selection” lines, which highlight only the finest vintages.
His goal has always been to craft wines with a personal signature – passionate, creative, and full of character, without being overbearing. He deliberately avoids excessive technological interventions such as cultured yeasts or cold fermentation, allowing the terroir and vintage to guide the process. Technology serves only to secure and realize his nature-driven vision.
Today, his winery produces around 18,000 bottles annually, much of which is sold locally through wine shops in Tramin, Auer, and Bolzano, as well as directly from the estate’s own shop with on-site tastings. The wines are known for their aromatic freshness, mineral precision, and sincere authenticity – shaped by small-scale production and intentional individuality.
Thus, the Roberto Ferrari winery embodies the vision of a winemaker who combines decades of expertise with a strong drive for independence. It is a venture that does not conform to industry standards but boldly forges its own path. The result is a range of exciting South Tyrolean wines with clear personality – a signature style that has been consistently expressed since 2007.
