Tenuta San Guido, gelegen in der malerischen Region Bolgheri in der Toskana, ist ein Weingut mit tief verwurzelter Tradition und einem unerschütterlichen Engagement für Exzellenz.
Tenuta San Guido, located in the picturesque Bolgheri region of Tuscany, is a winery with deep-rooted tradition and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The history of the estate dates back to the 1940s when Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, inspired by the great wines of Bordeaux, decided to plant Cabernet Sauvignon vines on the estate's gravelly soils. This decision led to the creation of Sassicaia, a wine that is now considered the pioneer of the "Super Tuscans."
The estate spans 2,500 hectares, of which about 100 hectares are planted with vineyards. The vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate shaped by the proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea and the surrounding hills. This terroir imparts the wines of Tenuta San Guido with their distinctive elegance and complexity.
In addition to the iconic Sassicaia, Tenuta San Guido also produces Guidalberto and Le Difese, two wines that each reflect different aspects of the terroir.
Guidalberto, introduced in 2000, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, offering accessible drinkability with great aging potential. Le Difese, first produced in 2002, combines Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese, offering a vibrant yet serious character.
