Péppoli

The Tenuta Pèppoli, owned by the Antinori family since 1985, is located five kilometers northeast of the Tenuta Tignanello in the heart of Chianti Classico. Spanning a total area of 100 hectares, 50 of which are vineyards, the estate produces the Pèppoli Chianti Classico DOCG. The vineyards, oriented east-northeast, benefit from a unique microclimate: nestled in a small valley that retains heat, the vines grow on stony, mineral-rich soils, giving the Sangiovese grapes a fruity and lively character.
In addition to viticulture, 27 hectares of olive groves, with 5,500 trees, including some centuries-old varieties such as Frantoio, Leccino, and Moraiolo, are farmed organically. Here, the Olio Biologico Extra Vergine di Oliva Pèppoli is produced. Since 2013, the grapes are vinified directly at the Cantina Antinori nel Chianti Classico. The aging takes place in traditional large barrels made of Slavonian oak, with a small portion in stainless steel containers.
The Pèppoli Chianti Classico DOCG is designed to express the full fruitiness of the Sangiovese grape. With its typical floral and fruity aromas, it represents the terroir of Chianti Classico and its historical grape variety. Traditionally, Tenuta Pèppoli also produces the eponymous Native Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the Pèppoli Aceto di Vino Rosso, a red wine vinegar made from the fermentation of Pèppoli wine.
