Le Mortelle Fattoria Le
Mortelle is located in the picturesque countryside of Maremma Toscana, just a few kilometers from Castiglione della Pescaia. This location is characterized by its exceptional beauty and the fascinating history of the surrounding villages. Since 1999, the Antinori family has passionately dedicated themselves to both the vineyard and the modern winery.
They are convinced that this area, although still young in the Italian oenological landscape, has an outstanding vocation for producing high-quality wines. Here, the peculiarities of the terroir and the cultivated grape varieties can be optimally expressed. The farm covers 270 hectares of land, 170 hectares of which are planted with vineyards.
The vineyards, which cover 170 hectares, are mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. There are also recent plantings of white grape varieties such as Vermentino, Ansonica and Viognier as well as a small proportion of Carménère. The soil, medium-heavy, sandy and silty, is mainly siliceous and in some areas rich in rocks.
