La Braccesca

In the vast Tuscan hills, La Braccesca covers 508 hectares of land, of which 340 hectares are covered with vineyards. This is where the traditional spirit of Nobile di Montepulciano and the innovative essence of Syrah from Cortona, an up-and-coming area with great potential in winegrowing. The old estate of the Counts of Bracci originally stood in this place. The name of the Tenuta and its coat of arms, an arm in armor holding a raised sword, still testify to this historic past today. Since 1990, La Braccesca has been the proud property of Marchesi Antinori.

The 340 hectares of vineyards are divided into two sections: The first, with 237 hectares, stretches along the border between the municipalities of Montepulciano and Cortona. The second part, with 103 hectares of vineyards, comprises three of the most renowned sub-zones for the production of great red wines in Montepulciano: Cervognano, Santa Pia and Gracciano. Sangiovese in Montepulciano and Syrah in Cortona dominate here, supplemented by a small portion of Merlot.
