Torre Penna in Puglia, near Lecce, is run by the third generation of the Bianchi family. Their wines reflect the unique terroir and dedication of the winemakers.
Torre Penna is primarily an agricultural project created to enhance selected lands in the municipality of Perugia, Umbria. In 2016, the Giovannini family acquired several plots of land in the Perugia area to revive authentic rural traditions in a contemporary form.
The vineyards are managed organically, though without certification. The grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes, with a careful selection of the fruit. The wines age for several months in stainless steel tanks, with malolactic fermentation occurring naturally.
Torre Penna produces, among other wines, a Rosato made from Merlot grapes grown on deep clay soils. The vines are over 20 years old. Production is limited to 1,500 to 2,000 bottles per year, depending on the vintage.
