Monin

In the 1920s, Monin started producing flavoured syrups, and the company soon established itself as a pioneer of high-quality fruit syrups, gaining recognition far beyond the borders of France.

Monin has a long and rich history that began in 1912 in the French city of Bourges, when the then eighteen-year-old Georges Monin founded a company dedicated to trading wines and spirits. In the 1920s, Monin started producing flavoured syrups, and the company soon established itself as a pioneer of high-quality fruit syrups, gaining recognition far beyond the borders of France.
Following the founder’s death in 1944, his son Paul Monin took over the leadership and shifted the focus entirely to the production and marketing of syrups, building a distribution network that firmly established Monin throughout France. In the following decades, the company expanded internationally, opening branches in Morocco, Malta, Tunisia, and West Africa. By 1947, more than three million bottles had been sold, and this number had risen to four million by 1974.
In 1992, the third generation took the helm, with Olivier Monin, Paul’s son, becoming CEO. Under his leadership, Monin opened a production facility in Clearwater, Florida in 1996, followed by sites in Singapore in 2005, Dubai in 2007, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009. In 2007, the French company Maison Guiot was acquired, and in 2018, a new site in China was added. Today, Monin is present in around 140 countries and generates approximately 75% of its revenue from international markets.
Under Olivier Monin, the company has firmly committed itself to the principle of quality. He personally approves every new flavour, emphasising that it is not the fruit content but the quality of the ingredients that makes the difference. The product range now includes more than 150 different syrups and flavours. Today, Monin is recognised worldwide as a symbol of creativity in beverage culture and a trusted partner for the hospitality industry, remaining true to its family tradition while delivering innovative flavour solutions and uncompromising quality.
