The Lagrein Riserva DOC 2022 from Waldgrieshof is a powerful, deeply expressive red wine made from South Tyrol’s most important native grape: Lagrein. The “Riserva” label signifies at least two years of aging, much of it in wooden barrels, adding complexity, structure, and aging potential. In the glass, it shines with a deep garnet red hue. The nose reveals ripe dark berries, violets, dark chocolate, and subtle toasty notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, velvety, and persistent, with well-integrated tannins and an elegant freshness. The Waldgrieshof, a historic estate in the heart of the classic Lagrein zone near Bolzano, combines centuries of tradition with modern precision – creating a Lagrein Riserva that perfectly reflects terroir, depth, and elegance.
