The Demian IGT 2022 from Weingut Pranzegg is a unique rosé wine made from the autochthonous Lagrein grape variety. The name “Demian” is derived from the literary figure Hermann Hesse and reflects the complex and profound character of wine. This wine has a bright reddish orange color in the glass. On the nose, it develops a fascinating bouquet of strawberries and cherries, which is rounded off by a touch of almond scent. On the palate, Demian is fresh with a balanced acidity, with the almond note coming out again on the finish.

The Lagrein grape variety, known for its thick, dark skins, is ideal for making rosé wines that convey both freshness and depth. The grapes for Demian grow on the steep slopes of the Ritten Plateau, north of Bolzano, on soils rich in sand and clay of volcanic origin. The biodynamic management of the vineyards and manual harvesting in two rounds — once early to preserve freshness and once fully ripe for the intensive fruit — contribute to the special quality of the wine.
