Château Léoville Las Cases stands as one of the most respected and historic wine estates in Bordeaux, located in the Saint-Julien appellation. It was ranked as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé (2. GCC) in the historic 1855 Bordeaux Classification – the “Second Growths” tier of the Médoc’s finest châteaux. Yet in terms of quality, many connoisseurs consider it equal to First Growths, thanks to its consistency, structure, and remarkable aging potential.
The 2022 vintage is a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out with Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc. The vines are located adjacent to Château Latour, in one of the most prestigious terroirs of the Médoc. Hand-harvesting, strict selection, and aging for 18–20 months in new French oak result in a wine of exceptional depth and elegance.
In the glass, the wine shows deep ruby with violet hues. The nose is layered and intense, offering blackcurrant, blackberry, graphite, cedarwood, tobacco, and floral notes. On the palate, it is dense and structured, with refined tannins, clear minerality, and impressive length. The finish lingers with dark fruit, spice, and a whisper of dark chocolate.
