Lagrein "Conus"
Lagrein DOC Conus BIO 2020 from Alois Lageder is a remarkable red wine that impressively brings out the special characteristics of the indigenous South Tyrolean Lagrein grape variety. The Lagrein Conus shows a cherry red color with ruby red shimmer. The scent develops an intense, fruity bouquet with notes of plum, licorice, cocoa and spicy and floral accents. On the palate, it is full-bodied, intense and well-structured, with silky tannins and a harmonious, well-balanced finish.
This wine is characterized by its complexity and ability to capture the terroir of Magre to reflect. Vinification includes malolactic fermentation, which takes place partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in wooden barrels, as well as spontaneous maceration. The climate in this region, characterized by warm days and cool nights, contributes to the development of the lively acidity and intense aromas that make this Lagrein so special.
An interesting fact for wine lovers: The name “Conus” refers to the rubble cone (Latin “Conus”) around the village of Magrè, where the grapes grow.
