The Barolo Riserva DOCG 2016 by Osvaldo Viberti is an outstanding wine from the renowned Barolo area in Piedmont. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, this wine impresses with its garnet red color. On the nose, it develops complex aromas of red fruits, tobacco, mint and pepper. On the palate, it is silky, with elegant tannins and a long,
impressive finish.
The special feature of this wine lies in its “Riserva” classification, which means that it must mature for at least five years, including at least 18 months in wooden barrels. This longer aging process gives the wine additional depth and complexity that distinguishes it from normal Barolo
wines.
The Barolo area is known for its limestone and clay soils as well as the favorable microclimate, which offers grapes optimal growing conditions. This region is characterized by its ability to produce wines with a high tannin structure and lively acidity, which can mature excellently.
