The St. Magdalener Classico DOC Antheos 2024 from Ansitz Waldgries is a characterful red wine that embodies the essence of South Tyrol. This wine is crafted from a meticulous selection of eight historic Schiava grape varieties, complemented by a small percentage of Lagrein. The grapes originate from the renowned "Hohe Leiten" vineyard in St. Magdalena, situated at an altitude of 250 meters, characterized by sandy soils with glacial deposits and weathered porphyry.
In the glass, Antheos displays a bright ruby red hue. The bouquet unfolds delicate aromas of ripe cherries, red forest berries, and subtle herbal notes. On the palate, it impresses with a dense texture, elegant acidity, and finely structured tannins, harmoniously balanced with the fruity notes. A distinctive aspect of the vinification is that 20% of the grapes are fermented without destemming or crushing, adding extra complexity to the wine.
