The Chardonnay DOC Selection Turmhof 2023 from Tiefenbrunner Winery is a wine of character, representing this internationally renowned grape variety with the distinctive elegance and minerality that South Tyrol imparts. The grapes come from sun-exposed hillside vineyards around Niclara near Cortaccia, where limestone soils and the alpine climate provide ideal conditions for aromatic freshness and structure.
In the cellar, the wine is carefully crafted: part of it matures in stainless steel, while a smaller portion ages in oak to add complexity without overshadowing the fruit. In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. The bouquet is fine and layered, revealing aromas of ripe apple, pear and citrus, complemented by hints of exotic fruit, hazelnut and vanilla.
On the palate, the Turmhof Chardonnay is harmonious and balanced – juicy, elegant and supported by precise acidity. The interplay of freshness, smooth texture and subtle minerality leads to a long, clean finish. A wine that perfectly combines finesse, clarity and varietal typicity.
