The Lagrein Riserva DOC Mantsch 2023 from Schreckbichl (Colterenzio Winery) is a remarkable expression of this native South Tyrolean grape variety. Deeply rooted in the winemaking tradition of Bolzano, Lagrein reveals its full depth and maturity in the Riserva version. The grapes come from carefully selected vineyards around Bolzano, where warm days and cool nights create ideal ripening conditions.

As a Riserva, this Lagrein undergoes extended ageing – often more than a year – in small oak barrels, developing extra structure, complexity and refinement. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color with violet reflections. The bouquet is rich and elegant, featuring dark berries, cherry and plum, intertwined with hints of cocoa, vanilla and subtle toasted notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, velvety and well-balanced, with ripe tannins and finely integrated acidity. The finish is long, dense and harmonious – a Lagrein combining power, elegance and South Tyrolean authenticity.
