In the glass the wine displays a deep ruby-red colour with subtle garnet hints around the rim, signalling first signs of maturity. On the nose are concentrated dark-fruit notes of preserved blackberries and sour cherries, complemented by elegant accents of liquorice and dried flowers – an arresting dark-fruit profile. On the palate it is velvety and full-bodied, with mature, finely grained tannins wrapping the fruit core, while a light acidity injects freshness and balance. The finish is very long, subtly alcoholic, and spicy in character.
