The Veltliner from the Kuenhof estate is a characterful white wine from the Eisack Valley in South Tyrol. The vineyards lie on steep south- and southeast-facing terraces south of Bressanone, at altitudes between 550 and 700 meters. The warm microclimate, with strong temperature variations between day and night and abundant sunshine, gives the wine its distinctive expression.
The vines grow in poor, skeletal soils rich in schist, quartz phyllite and clay. Careful manual work in the vineyard, gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel and large acacia barrels shape the unique style of this Veltliner.
In the glass it shines with a brilliant straw yellow color. On the nose it reveals fresh aromas of ripe lemon, pear and stone fruit, accompanied by light herbal notes, lime and mineral nuances. On the palate it is juicy, clear and concentrated, supported by lively acidity and the typical “wet-stone” character. A touch of pepper and a subtly bitter finish round off the tasting experience.
