The Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz 2023 – Penfolds is a powerful, warm-climate Australian Shiraz that exemplifies the classic style of the historic Penfolds winery. Founded in 1844, Penfolds is regarded as one of Australia’s most prestigious producers and is internationally renowned for structured, long-lived Shiraz wines with a distinctive signature. Bin 28 is one of the winery’s archetypal Shiraz expressions, combining intense fruit concentration with spice, depth and precision. The wine is produced predominantly from Shiraz, a grape variety that thrives in South Australia and is known for delivering richness, aromatic intensity and expressive character. The grapes are sourced from several warm regions across South Australia; the historic name “Kalimna” reflects the traditional origins and style of this wine. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for approximately twelve months in American oak barrels, adding structure, spice and texture while preserving the purity of the fruit.
