The Rosso di Montalcino 2024 by Agostina Pieri is an authentic, terroir-driven Sangiovese that reflects the elegant style of southern Montalcino. The family-run estate works with great respect for both grape variety and origin, focusing on meticulous vineyard management and precise winemaking.
This Rosso di Montalcino is made from 100% Sangiovese, sourced from vineyards with calcareous and clay soils that provide structure and expression. Compared to Brunello, Rosso undergoes a shorter ageing period, making it more approachable while retaining character and depth. The wine is mainly matured in large oak casks to preserve freshness and varietal purity.
In the glass, the 2024 vintage shows a bright ruby red colour. The nose reveals aromas of ripe cherry, red berries and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is juicy, balanced and well structured, with lively yet integrated acidity and a harmonious, persistent finish. A versatile Rosso di Montalcino with classic profile and clear sense of origin.
