Pierre Morey

The Pierre Morey winery is located in the renowned Burgundy wine region, more specifically in Meursault, a municipality in the Côte de Beaune. The history of the winery dates back to 1793, when the Morey family first settled in the region. Pierre Morey, the current owner, is considered one of Burgundy's most important winemakers, a title he earned through decades of hard work and a deep understanding of the region's terroir.

In 1935 Pierre Morey's father, Auguste Morey, became tenant of the legendary Domaine des Comtes Lafon winery, which played a decisive role in the development of the family's winemaking practices. In 1971, Pierre Morey finally founded his own winery and brought the first wines to market under the name Auguste Morey-Genelot.

Today, the winery is run by Pierre and his daughter Anne. Together, they cultivate nine hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. Since 1997, the winery has been working biodynamically, and Pierre Morey began switching to natural farming methods as early as 1991 to meet the new challenges posed by diseases in the vineyard.
What is
unique about this winery is the combination of traditional knowledge and modern, sustainable farming methods. Pierre Morey wines are known for their fineness and complexity, which reflect the unique terroir of Burgundy. The estate's outstanding wines include Volnay Santenots 1er Cru, Meursault Blanc Les Tessons and Meursault Blanc Perrieres 1er Cru.
