Fontanavecchia

Fontanavecchia, a winery with a rich history, is located in the picturesque Campania region, more specifically in the Sannio sub-region. Founded in 1860 by Giovanni Rillo, the winery has perfected the art of viticulture over generations. Today, it is run by Libero Rillo, a passionate winemaker, who preserves the traditions of his ancestors while integrating modern techniques. The winery covers about 18 hectares of fertile soil, which is interspersed with volcanic ash and clay. This unique soil condition gives Fontanavecchia wines an unmistakable minerality and depth. The winery's commitment to growing autochthonous grape varieties such as Aglianico and Falanghina, which are reflected in the wines, is particularly remarkable.

A special feature of the Fontanavecchia winery is the use of traditional and modern methods to produce wines that perfectly reflect the region's terroir. The wines are aged in oak barrels, which gives them additional complexity and elegance. The estate's most famous wines include Aglianico del Taburno, a powerful red wine with intense aromas of dark fruits and spices, and Falanghina del Sannio, a fresh white wine with notes of citrus and floral nuances. It is also interesting that Fontanavecchia is playing a leading role in the revival of wine-growing culture in Sannio. By caring for old vines and promoting sustainable farming methods, the winery contributes to the preservation and development of regional heritage.
