Fontanavecchia's Aglianico del Tubarno DOCG 2020 is an impressive red wine from Campania, made from 100% Aglianico grapes. This grape variety is known for its ability to produce complex and structured wines that have a remarkable ability to age. The grapes for this wine are carefully selected and harvested by hand to ensure the highest quality.
The wine impresses with its deep ruby red color, which turns into garnet red as it matures. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe cherries, plums and black berries develop, accompanied by notes of spices, leather and a touch of tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and powerful, with a firm tannin structure and well-integrated acidity. The long finish is characterized by spicy and fruity nuances, which give the wine an elegant complexity.
The combination of hot summer days and cool nights is typical of Aglianico del Tubarno and the wine-growing zone around Monte Taburno, which gives the grapes a perfect balance between sugar and acidity. The soil in this region is rich in limestone and clay, which contribute to the minerality and structure of the wine. The vineyards are cultivated according to the Guyot system to promote optimal ripening of the grapes.
