Pierpaolo Pecorari

The Pierpaolo Pecorari winery is located in the heart of the renowned wine-growing region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and has stood for quality, craftsmanship, and respect for nature for decades. In this northeastern Italian area – famous for its diverse soils, mild climate, and proximity to the Adriatic Sea – wines are produced that combine elegance with expressive character.

Pierpaolo Pecorari manages the estate with a clear philosophy: the focus lies on the native Friulian grape varieties, which should naturally reflect their origin and the unique character of the soil. The combination of tradition, modern cellar technology, and sustainable viticulture results in a portfolio that excites both connoisseurs and those new to Friulian wines.
The soils around San Lorenzo Isontino, where the winery is based, are characterized by marl and sandstone, creating mineral-driven wines full of finesse. The unique microclimate – with cool winds from the Julian Alps and warm influences from the nearby Adriatic – provides the grapes with an ideal balance of freshness and ripeness.

In our selection, you will find the typical wines of this estate: the Friulano, with its fine spiciness and harmonious balance of fruit and minerality; the Ribolla Gialla, one of Friuli’s most emblematic white grape varieties, loved for its freshness and liveliness; the powerful Refosco, offering intense dark berry aromas and a bold structure; and finally, the elegant Merlot, which in Friuli reveals a particularly round, fruit-forward, yet deep expression.
