La Prendina

La Prendina, a prestigious winery in Lombardy, more specifically in Monzambano, Mantua, has a long and rich history. The estate was purchased by the Piona family in 1958, but the existence of the estate dates back to the Gonzaga period (14th-18th century). Originally, the wines were sold under the name Cavalchina, but in 1980 the first wine was bottled under the name La Prendina, a Merlot, for the famous Italian chef Gualtiero Marchesi. This Merlot remains a figurehead of the winery to this day.

The vineyards of La Prendina cover several hectares and benefit from the ideal conditions in the region. The Piona family attaches great importance to sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention in natural processes, which is reflected in the high quality and characteristic taste of their wines. The most famous wines include Merlot, Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Sauvignon, which are all appreciated for their balanced structure and complex aromas. La Prendina is known for its innovative approaches that combine tradition and modernity.

The winery is constantly experimenting with new techniques and methods to further improve the quality of their wines. This innovative spirit is reflected in the variety of wines on offer, which never cease to surprise with new, exciting taste profiles. Another interesting feature is the particular attention paid to the terroir. The region's unique soil and climate conditions are optimally used to produce wines with an unmistakable character. This dedication to perfection has made La Prendina a valued name in the wine world and attracts wine lovers from all over the world.
