The Adige Valley in South Tyrol is one of Northern Italy’s most exciting and diverse wine regions. Stretching from Merano to Bolzano, the area benefits from sun-exposed slopes, mineral-rich soils, warm days, and cool nights, creating ideal conditions for viticulture. It is especially known for producing fresh, long-lived white wines and structured, elegant red wines.

Key grape varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Schiava (Vernatsch), and Lagrein. One of the region’s signature wines is the internationally acclaimed Sauvignon Winkl by Kellerei Terlan. Other top producers include the Nals Margreid Winery and the historic Kellerei Andrian.

Alongside these major cooperatives, the valley is home to outstanding family-run wineries like Weingut Kornell, known for characterful red wines, as well as boutique estates such as Weingut Oberstein and Weingut Kiemberger, which focus on small-scale, terroir-driven production.

The Adige Valley perfectly combines Alpine freshness, Mediterranean charm, and a deep-rooted wine tradition – a microcosm of South Tyrolean winemaking at its best.
