Eichenstein
The Eichenstein winery, a jewel in the South Tyrolean wine landscape, is picturesquely situated above Merano in the Freiberg district. This impressive winery is part of Plars Castle, which can look back on a long tradition of winemaking. The estate itself was founded more recently and is now run by the Schmid family, who have dedicated themselves to viticulture with passion and dedication.
Eichenstein covers an area of around 9 hectares, which are located at an altitude of 550 to 750 meters above sea level. This high location, combined with the unique geological conditions and mild, sunny climate of South Tyrol, offers ideal conditions for growing quality wines. The soils are rich in minerals, which gives the wines a particular finesse and complexity.
