Peter Sölva

The Peter Sölva winery, one of the oldest wineries in Kaltern, South Tyrol, looks back on an impressive history that dates back to 1731. The winery has been family-owned for over ten generations and is run with a deep dedication to winemaking and a tireless search for the highest quality. The Sölva family uses a combination of traditional methods and modern techniques to produce wines that reflect both the terroir and the characteristics of the respective grape varieties.

The winery cultivates around 12 hectares of vineyards spread over the best locations around Kaltern and Lake Kaltern. With its mineral-rich soils of lime and clay and a mild climate with many sunny days and cool nights, this region offers ideal conditions for viticulture. The winery is particularly known for its “De Silva” and “Amistar” lines, which represent the heritage and innovative spirit of the Sölva family.

The “De Silva” line stands for wines from old vines that impress with their complexity and depth. The wines are produced with great care and sometimes mature in large wooden barrels to achieve an optimal balance between fruit and wood. The “Amistar” wines, on the other hand, are cuvées that acquire their particular elegance and complexity through a selective selection of the best grapes and a long aging in barriques.
