The estate’s vineyards in the “Barleit,” “Lavardi,” and “Hochleiten” sites are home to white and red varieties such as Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, and Vernatsch (Schiava).
The Seeperle winery is located in St. Josef am Kalterer See, close to the wine-growing area around Lake Caldaro in South Tyrol. The Rainer family has been closely connected to wine and gastronomy in this region for generations.
A decisive milestone came in 2013: for the first time, the grapes from the family’s own vineyards were fully vinified in their own cellar. This marked the beginning of independent wine production under the Seeperle name.
From the outset, the winery has relied on a combination of excellent vineyard sites, meticulous vineyard care, and modern cellar technology to produce wines with distinctive character and strong regional identity.
Today, the Rainer family runs the Seeperle winery as part of a combined agricultural and gastronomic business, which also includes a country inn. The younger generation, represented by Arthur Rainer, is responsible for winemaking and follows a modern, forward-looking approach.

Seeperle also works both with its own family cultivation and with trusted partner growers, processing the grapes directly on-site to ensure short transport paths and fresh, high-quality fruit.
In recent years, the winery has established itself as a small but ambitious producer that prioritizes quality over quantity. Today’s portfolio includes several wine lines, some with deliberately provocative names (such as the “Echt Geil” Sauvignon), aimed at wine lovers who value authenticity and individuality.
