Founded in the 1950s by Erich Kobler, the company today comprises both orchards in Kurtatsch and vineyards in Margreid. The Ogeaner, the oldest vineyard on the farm, was purchased back in 1958 and was already half planted with Chardonnay vines.
Over the years, the Kobler family expanded their property to include other important sites such as the Klausner location, which was acquired in 1972 and where Grauer Burgundy, Merlot and Carmenère flourish.
The Kotzner vineyard was added in 1993 and saw the original Vernat grapes converted to Merlot. Furthermore, the variety of grape varieties cultivated was reinforced by the new plantings of Cabernet Franc in 2001 in the Puit vineyard and Grauem Burgundy in Oberfeld in 2002.
The latest additions to the grape variety portfolio are the Gewürztraminer vines, planted in 2004, which replace an older plant from 1973.
This realignment reflects the family's efforts to continuously develop and improve the quality of their wines. The combination of traditional knowledge and modern farming methods makes Weinhof Armin Kobler an outstanding representative of the South Tyrolean wine industry, whose products are recognized far beyond regional borders.
