Fratelli Ramazzotti

The secrecy of the recipe played a key role in distinguishing Ramazzotti from other herbal liqueurs.

The history of Fratelli Ramazzotti begins in 1815 in Milan, Italy, when Ausano Ramazzotti developed a recipe for a bitter herbal liqueur (Amaro). Inspired by traditional Italian herbal medicine, he combined various plants, roots, and spices to create a unique blend. The resulting liqueur was not only flavorful but also intended to aid digestion, quickly gaining popularity in Italian households and bars. The secrecy of the recipe played a key role in distinguishing Ramazzotti from other herbal liqueurs.
Throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, Ramazzotti’s popularity steadily increased, especially in northern Italy. The company became a symbol of Italian aperitif and digestif culture. From the very beginning, Fratelli Ramazzotti focused on high-quality ingredients and consistent production management to ensure the characteristic taste of their Amaro.
Today, Ramazzotti belongs to Bacardi Limited, one of the largest spirits companies in the world. The brand has expanded its portfolio, offering not only the classic Ramazzotti Amaro but also various special editions. Ramazzotti remains a popular digestif and is increasingly used in cocktails. Worldwide, the liqueur is synonymous with Italian tradition, quality, and craftsmanship, enjoyed in bars, restaurants, and private homes.
