Special attention is paid to using organically grown ingredients and gentle processing without additives.
The Walcher Distillery was founded in 1966, when Alfons Walcher established the first distillery at the Turmbachhof in Appiano (South Tyrol). The estate has been owned by the Walcher family for nine generations and is located in the largest contiguous cultivation area in eastern South Tyrol. Thanks to the mild climate with over 280 days of sunshine per year, particularly aromatic fruits thrive here.
Initially, the distillery focused on producing grappa, fruit brandies, herbal liqueurs, and premium spirits made from local fruits. Today, the Walcher Distillery produces over one million bottles annually and exports its products worldwide. The portfolio includes grappa, fruit brandies, liqueurs, aperitifs, and gin.
In 2017, the Walcher family opened the Genussmanufaktur in Caldaro to combine traditional recipes with modern technology and preserve the unique taste of South Tyrol. Special attention is paid to using organically grown ingredients and gentle processing without additives.
The Walcher Distillery stands for tradition, quality, and innovation. With over 50 years of experience and numerous international awards, it is a significant player in the world of fine spirits.
