Mangaroca International AG was founded in 1980 by Giovanni Sassoli de Bianchi, a descendant of the Italian distillery Buton S.p.A., known for its Vecchia Romagna brandy. Impressed by this beverage, they introduced Batida de Côco to the European market. Mangaroca International AG was founded to produce and market the liqueur.

Since its founding, Mangaroca International AG has established itself as the leading producer of the Brazilian coconut liqueur. The company produces Batida de Côco according to a traditional Brazilian recipe with an alcohol content of 16%. The liqueur is characterized by its creamy texture and intense coconut flavor, making it a popular ingredient in tropical cocktails such as the Piña Colada.

In 2017, the Mangaroca Batida de Côco brand was acquired by Henkell & Co. Sektkellerei KG and has since been distributed worldwide. Despite this acquisition, Mangaroca International AG remains responsible for the production of the liqueur. The company is based in Barbengo, Switzerland, and produces the liqueur under strict quality standards.

Today, Mangaroca Batida de Côco is available in over 20 countries worldwide and is synonymous with Brazilian joie de vivre and exoticism. The company continues to focus on innovation and quality to ensure the international success of the brand.
