Sylvaner
Silvaner is an often underrated white wine grape variety that mainly occurs in Germany. The wines are characterized by lively aromas of peach, passion fruit and orange blossom, as well as subtle herbal notes such as thyme. They are dry, have a medium-light body, no tannins and medium-high acidity. The alcohol content is between 11.5% and 13.5%. Silvaner wines are best served at 3-7°C and do not require decantation. They are ideal for light dishes such as salads, white meats, tofu and fish, especially in combination with fresh herbs.
