The Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2022 from Château Angélus is one of the most iconic wines of Bordeaux’s Right Bank, representing power, elegance, and extraordinary precision. The estate is located in a natural amphitheater on the southern slope of Saint-Émilion, where limestone and clay soils, together with excellent drainage, create ideal conditions for great red wines. Particularly distinctive is the strong presence of Cabernet Franc, which in this appellation brings floral refinement, structure, and remarkable freshness. The blend is completed by Merlot and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon.
In the glass, it shows a deep and intense ruby-red color. The nose reveals aromas of black cherry, cassis, and blackberry, accompanied by violet, licorice, fine spice, and delicate toasted notes. On the palate, it is powerful yet perfectly silky, with dense dark fruit, ultra-fine tannins, and remarkable freshness. The finish is exceptionally long, complex, and elegant.
