The Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2022 from Château Cheval Blanc is one of the most iconic wines of Bordeaux’s Right Bank and has long stood for elegance, depth, and extraordinary longevity. The historic estate in Saint-Émilion is renowned for its unique style, strongly shaped by its exceptional terroir of clay, gravel, and sand. This rare soil composition gives the wine a remarkable balance of finesse, aromatic precision, and silky texture. A defining characteristic of Cheval Blanc is its high proportion of Cabernet Franc, a grape variety that plays a central role in Saint-Émilion and brings floral refinement, freshness, and structure.
In the glass, it shows a deep and intense ruby-red color. The nose reveals layered aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and cassis, accompanied by violet, fine spice, licorice, and delicate smoky graphite notes. On the palate, it is exceptionally dense yet perfectly silky, with precise dark fruit, ultra-fine tannins, and remarkable freshness. The structure is powerful while maintaining complete elegance. The finish is exceptionally long, complex, and harmonious.
