The Smith Haut Lafitte – Pessac-Léognan 2022 from Château Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the great red wines of southern Bordeaux and beautifully represents the elegance and depth of this prestigious appellation. The estate is located in Martillac on the classic gravel soils of Graves, which provide excellent drainage and ideal ripening conditions for the vines. In Pessac-Léognan, Cabernet Sauvignon develops particularly precise, structured, and age-worthy wines, while Merlot adds richness and silky texture.

The 2022 vintage is composed of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon brings finesse and tension, Merlot adds richness and smoothness, while Cabernet Franc contributes spice and aromatic depth. The Graves terroir also gives the wine its refined mineral signature, for which it is internationally renowned.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color. The nose reveals intense aromas of cassis, blackberry, and dark cherry, accompanied by fine herbal notes, graphite, spice, and delicate toasted nuances.
