The Riesling Bernkasteler Badstube 2022 by Markus Molitor is an outstanding example of the finesse and complexity that define Mosel Rieslings from the region’s classic steep slopes. The Bernkasteler Badstube vineyard, one of the most renowned sites of the Middle Mosel, lies on south to southwest-facing slopes above Bernkastel and is characterized by weathered Devonian slate soils that impart distinctive minerality and longevity. Markus Molitor, celebrated for his meticulous craftsmanship and hand selection, has created with the 2022 vintage a Riesling that unites clarity and depth with remarkable precision. In the glass, it shines pale straw-yellow with greenish hues. The bouquet is delicate yet complex, offering aromas of white peach, green apple and citrus, accompanied by herbal undertones and a hint of slate. On the palate, the Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling reveals elegance, purity and tension. A lively acidity carries the precise fruit and fine minerality through a long, refined finish. A Mosel Riesling of exceptional precision, depth and regional character.
