The Edelvernatsch DOC 2024 from Egger Ramer in Bolzano is a classic expression of this traditional South Tyrolean grape variety. The family-run winery is deeply rooted in Bolzano’s winemaking heritage and places strong emphasis on preserving indigenous varieties. Vinified as a single variety from Vernatsch grapes, this wine represents an authentic, terroir-driven style with excellent drinkability. Fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness, fruit purity and clarity. With its moderate alcohol level, the wine is light to medium-bodied and well suited for everyday enjoyment as well as versatile food pairing.
In the glass, it shows a bright, clear ruby red colour typical of Vernatsch. The nose reveals fresh red berry aromas, complemented by subtle spicy notes and a delicate hint of almond. On the palate, the wine is dry, fresh and harmonious, with soft tannins, lively fruit and a gentle, pleasant finish that highlights its classic character.
