The Sylvaner IGT “1” 2021 from Strasserhof Estate is a characterful white wine from the
Isarco Valley in South Tyrol. The historic estate is located in
Vahrn near Brixen and is considered one of the notable producers of the region. The vineyards lie in the cool higher elevations of the Eisacktal, where strong temperature differences between day and night help develop clear aromas and vibrant freshness.
The wine is made from
100% Sylvaner. This grape variety, also known as Silvaner,
originates from the Danube region and is now mainly cultivated in Germany as well as in several Alpine wine regions. When fully ripe, it produces harmonious wines with balanced acidity, moderate fruit and often a subtle mineral character.
At
Strasserhof, Sylvaner reflects the typical style of the Eisack Valley: precise, fresh and strongly influenced by its terroir. In the glass the wine shows a pale straw-yellow colour with light green reflections. The nose reveals delicate aromas of yellow fruits, herbs and subtle floral notes. On the palate the Sylvaner is clean, fresh and elegant, with lively acidity, mineral nuances and a precise, harmonious finish.
