The Lagrein Kretzer 2025 from Muri-Gries is a classic rosé (locally known in South Tyrol as Kretzer) made from 100% Lagrein, an indigenous red grape variety of the region. The term Kretzer traditionally refers to a rosé wine produced from red grapes, in which the must is quickly separated from the skins in order to preserve freshness and aromatic clarity. The name originates from the historic basket (Kretze) once used to separate must from grape skins. Vinification of this young vintage takes place entirely in stainless steel, highlighting the wine’s lively, fruit-driven style. The Lagrein Kretzer is ready to drink just a few months after harvest and represents the fresh, approachable side of the Lagrein spectrum. In the glass, the wine displays a bright, light cherry-red colour, characteristic of this rosé style of Lagrein. On the nose, it reveals a fresh, fruity bouquet with aromas of cherry, raspberry and red currant, supported by vibrant freshness. On the palate, it impresses with juicy acidity, fine structure and a youthful, easy-drinking profile, leading to a fresh and persistent finish.
