Weingut Kiemberger: Hauptstraße 21, 39018 Terlan (IT)
The Weisses Handwerk 2023 from Kiemberger is a white wine of distinct character, crafted with care and fully reflecting the philosophy of the estate. The name Weisses Handwerk emphasizes the balance between traditional winemaking techniques and attentive, hands-on viticulture, resulting in a wine with defined structure and aromatic depth that highlights the quality of the vineyards and grape varieties.
This white is a blend of three grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder), and Sauvignon Blanc, grown in the renowned vineyards of St. Nikolaus/Kaltern and Andrian. After fermentation – partially on the lees – the wine matures for about 20 months on fine lees in wood, mainly in barriques, giving it added complexity, structure, and depth.
In the glass, the Weisses Handwerk 2023 shows floral and citrus notes, complemented by hints of stone fruit, subtle yeasty nuances, and mineral accents. On the palate, it is juicy, concentrated, and structured, with lively acidity, gentle nutty hints, and a smooth, elegant finish.
The result is an expressive, characterful white wine that perfectly represents the craftsmanship of South Tyrolean winemaking and the distinctive style of Kiemberger.
