The Pinot Noir Riserva DOC Rittstein 2021 from
Stroblhof is a characterful, elegantly structured Pinot Noir from South Tyrol and an outstanding expression of the region’s classic Burgundy tradition. Only the finest grapes from the estate vineyards around Appiano, located at about
500 m elevation on southeast-facing parcels, are used for this wine. The combination of sunny days, cool nights, and mineral-rich soils with porphyry and limestone promotes the development of intense aromas and clear, precise fruit.
In the glass, the Rittstein 2021 displays a deep, brilliant garnet red. The nose reveals an intense, complex bouquet of black cherries, blackberries, red flowers, subtle earthy notes, and delicate spice and herbal hints,
typical of a high-quality alpine Pinot Noir. On the palate, the wine is
elegant, well-structured, and fresh, with finely integrated tannins and lively acidity providing depth, structure, and a long, spicy finish.
Vinification includes controlled fermentation, followed by
at least 12 months aging in barriques and additional time in large casks and the bottle. This extended maturation gives the Rittstein 2021 complexity, balance, and excellent aging potential, making it one of Stroblhof’s most representative Pinot Noirs.
The Riserva designation reflects the special selection, longer aging, and careful cellar management: grapes from old vines, grown in optimal parcels, produce a wine with fine structure, great depth, and
exceptional aging potential.
