The Barolo DOCG “Bric del Fiasc” 2022 from Paolo Scavino is a bold and profound red wine, regarded as one of the standout Cru Barolos of the Langhe. This Barolo is vinified from 100% Nebbiolo, Piedmont’s iconic indigenous grape variety, celebrated worldwide for its refined aromatics, elegant tannin structure and outstanding ageing potential. The grapes come from the renowned Bric del Fiasc vineyard area in Castiglione Falletto, where the soils – a combination of Tortonian and Helvetian layers with limestone-rich rock and sandstone – contribute distinctive minerality and impressive finesse to the wine. 
In the glass, the Barolo shows an intense, bright garnet-red colour, reflecting optimal ripeness of the Nebbiolo grapes. The aromatic profile is layered and elegant: fruit-driven notes of dark berries and ripe cherries are complemented by floral hints, violet nuances, delicate spice and subtle mineral tones. On the palate, the wine is powerful, with well-integrated yet clearly present tannins and vibrant acidity that provide structure and tension. This Barolo is both complex and balanced, with a long finish and a clear capacity for ageing. 
The name “Bric del Fiasc” refers directly to the Cru itself, whose unique terroir characteristics play a defining role in shaping the identity of this Barolo. In the cellar, Paolo Scavino combines traditional expertise with precise ageing, aiming to capture the pure essence of Nebbiolo and its origin.
