The Michele Chiarlo Cerequio Barolo DOCG 2022 is one of the most outstanding interpretations of the legendary Barolo cru Cerequio, one of the most historically significant vineyards in Piedmont, located between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo. This Barolo belongs to the prestigious cru category of Michele Chiarlo and is produced in exceptionally limited quantities – only in vintages that offer outstanding quality.
The grapes for this Barolo come exclusively from the Cerequio vineyard area, whose calcareous and marl-rich soils provide ideal conditions for Nebbiolo – optimal ripeness, aromatic complexity and long-lasting structure. After hand harvesting, the grapes are vinified according to tradition: extended maceration and controlled fermentation in oak casks ensure depth and concentration. The wine then matures for at least three years in large oak barrels before bottling.
In the glass, the 2022 vintage displays an intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet is complex and expressive, marked by ripe red fruits, Mediterranean herbs, refined balsamic nuances and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it impresses with powerful structure, dense tannins and harmonious balance between fruit, acidity and spice – a Barolo of great elegance and remarkable persistence.
The Cerequio Barolo DOCG 2022 is a wine of strong character that clearly reflects its excellent ageing potential – a symbol of uncompromising quality from one of Barolo’s most iconic cru vineyards.
